About This Activity
The Lil Devils program has been running since 2007 and forms part of the Caroline Springs Blue Devils Basketball Club. The Lil Devils I Got Next Academy is designed for beginners aged 10-12 girls, who are interested but have little to no experience. The main focus of the program is to prepare players for domestic competition, which they will be allowed to participate in once they have completed both modules. • This is a 1-day learning/development skills program. • Sunday = Skills Development • Domestic competition focus • Operated in-between domestic seasons (Summer & Winter) • Module 1 (1st Team) & Module 2 (2nd Term) Session Times & Days: • Sunday: 12:00pm – 1:00pm: (10-12 year old girls) Aim: • Teach basic basketball fundamentals • Teach life values • Create a fun environment for players. • Players to leave the session with a smile. Module 1 - 8 Weeks • Ball-Handling • Shooting • Passing Module 2 - 8 Weeks • Defensive Principles • Offensive Principles • Team Concepts This program has produced amazing results with respect to developing positive values, teamwork, and sportsmanship, let alone some very talented basketball players over the years; boys and girls who have played or are currently members in VIC State teams, and even playing in the USA National Collegiate Athletic Association whilst attending University. The Lil Devils program has recently modified the structure of the program and will be run in line with the start and finish of each school term. This allows more flexibility for parents and children to either continue to participate in basketball or even move up to the Blue Devils for those who've made significant advancements or to move on and try a new sport or activity.
