Description
"Journey through Nevada’s Past, Present, and Your Imagination"
HOSTED BY SIERRA ARTS FOUNDATIONWhether it was travel in Mark Twain’s time of steamboats and locomotives or today’s jet flights and hiking Sierra trails, journeys inspire change and change begins stories. In this 3-hour hands-on writing workshop, author Suzanne Morgan Williams will lead participants as they plot and begin a story inspired by their travels, photo prompts, or imaginary wanderings. The workshop will include exercises to create believable, layered characters, enhance settings, and build tension into the plot. You will discuss scene structure, your characters’ physical and emotional journeys (interior and exterior plot), and how they interact to advance the story and create a satisfying conclusion. The class will include short lessons and exercises, writing time, and small group sharing. It is suitable for writers with all levels of experience from just beginning to experienced.
