About This Activity
Gear up for grit and adventure to learn survival skills within various Texas ecosystems. • I will survive. Campers will learn to safely start fires, build water filters and personal shelters with natural resources. • Is it edible? Campers will make cookies from local mesquite beans and yaupon tea from holly leaves. • Call for help. Campers will learn what to do in hypothetical emergencies, create signals to communicate to others in the outdoors. • Atlatls, javelins and bows – oh my! Campers will learn to use these instruments and practice on targets to simulate hunting.
