Mathematical modeling is about using and expanding your math knowledge to understand and find solutions to real-life problems. We will explore open-ended, complex, interesting situations that students at any middle-grade math level will be able to tackle using problem-solving skills. Students will ask questions about the problem, gather more information about the situation, decide what's most important to include in their work and prove their solutions. There are always multiple perspectives, multiple solutions, and multiple ways to find a solution. Different problems will be explored in the two different weeks.
