Madagascar KIDS A One-Week Musical Theatre Production Camp Location: Belmont Arts Collaborative (BAC) Dates: August 3–8 Schedule Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM Friday: 9:00 AM–7:45 PM - (Performance at 7:00 PM) Saturday: 12:30–5:00 PM - (Performances at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM) This one-week Musical Theatre Production Camp gives students the opportunity to rehearse and perform a fully staged production of Madagascar KIDS. Students will work intensively on singing, acting, and choreography while learning what it takes to mount a complete musical—from auditions and rehearsals to tech, costumes, and live performances. The week culminates in three performances for a public audience at the Belmont Arts Collaborative. Participants will: -Learn musical theatre songs and choreography -Develop acting skills and character work -Experience the rehearsal-to-performance process -Work with directors, music and choreography staff, and stage management -Perform in a fully produced musical with lights, sound, costumes, and sets A casting process is required for all participants. Casting materials and specific dates will be shared through the camp’s private BAND group after registration. Performances Friday, August 7 at 7:00 PM Saturday, August 8 at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM Performance tickets are not included in camp tuition. Eligibility Open to rising 3rd–9th grade students. Students of all experience levels are welcome, including those new to musical theatre. Participant Requirements Attire: Comfortable clothing suitable for movement; closed-toe shoes required (Students may be asked to provide jazz shoes.) Supplies: Labeled water bottle, lunch, and snacks Communication All families will receive updates and essential information through a private BAND app group. Parents/guardians are required to create an account and join this group. This camp includes extended evening hours on Friday and Saturday performances. Families should plan accordingly.
