Shakespeare Production Acting Camp This two-week Shakespeare Production Acting Camp offers students the opportunity to deeply explore Shakespeare’s language, characters, and storytelling while rehearsing and performing a fully staged Shakespeare play (title to be announced). New this year, the extended format allows for more in-depth text analysis, character work, and rehearsal time, supporting both newer actors and students with advanced training. The camp culminates in a public performance weekend that mirrors a professional rehearsal and production process. Eligibility: Open to students in rising grades 6-12. Schedule: June 15-18: 9 AM-4 PM, M-Th June 22-25 from 9 AM to 4 PM June 26 from 9 AM to 7:30 PM (Performance at 6 PM) * Final Performances: * June 27 from 1:30 PM to 7:30 PM (Performances at 3 PM and 6 PM) Suitability: Ideal for beginners to Shakespeare, returning campers, and those with advanced acting training. Casting Sessions: Potential in-person or Zoom meetings for casting, or video options if not available for the former options. Technical Theatre Camp: Running concurrently, assisting with costumes, sets, sound, and technical elements (registration is separate). Communication: Updates and information to be shared via the camp BAND group. Cost: Variable pricing options available; camp fee does not include performance tickets. This camp offers a rich experience for young actors to delve into the world of Shakespearean drama, develop their skills, and collaborate on a full-scale production. The combination of intensive workshops and a collaborative performance is a great way for students to learn and grow in their craft.
