*This camp is provided by an outside vendor. Campers will begin by learning to use Scratch, the innovative programming language created just for kids by MIT. They will be introduced to programming by using a variety of commands to animate characters and objects called sprites, create backdrops, add music and sounds, and much more. After animating animal bands, dancing ball art and crazy hungry monkeys, campers will use their new skills to explore and experiment as they design and program their very own video game or animation project. Campers will then use their new skills to learn more advanced coding in Alice, an innovative block-based programming environment, to create their own 3D games and animations. They will learn to program character interaction, movement, and control keys within their own games and animations. Nemo, Dory, flying dragons, and aliens will keep campers engaged and having fun as they learn! Coordinator: Computer Explorers staff
