About This Activity

Led by Lauchlan Davis Sky ‘14, GPS Fine & Performing Arts Visual Arts Faculty This painting intensive invites students to explore painting through hands-on studio work that emphasizes process, experimentation, and personal expression. Throughout the week, students will learn how painters use color, composition, and technique to communicate ideas and emotion. Through demonstrations, guided exercises, and individual projects, campers will build confidence working with paint while developing an understanding of color relationships, value definition, and brushwork. Students are encouraged to explore their own individual style while learning practical skills that support thoughtful, well-crafted artwork. The week concludes with a small exhibition celebrating each camper’s creative growth. This camp is ideal for beginners seeking a strong foundation as well as more experienced artists looking to deepen their skills and artistic voice. Skills explored: Painting Techniques, Color Theory, Composition, Creative Independence
