About This Activity
During our summer camp experiences, educators will immerse themselves alongside students, adopting the perspective of a learner with educator insight. Engaging fully in all activities and skills, they'll also serve as vigilant overseers for student safety. Through these paid externship opportunities, teachers will glean firsthand understanding of the skills, hurdles, and potential paths in diverse STEM fields. Our aim is for educators to re-enter classrooms invigorated and equipped to infuse their teaching with newfound knowledge and enthusiasm, igniting inspiration in their students. Come explore careers in Health Care at McLaren Hospital in Cheboygan! Students will explore pre-hospital, Surgery and post care. Visit physical therapy, the operating room, cardiac rehab, radiology and EMS. Walk through a life size heart and colon. Learn the procedure for donning and doffing scrubs, experience performing CPR and STOP the bleed. Explore opportunities that exist in healthcare.
