About This Activity
This week long course will allow developing artists to learn how to approach the painted portrait with confidence. Working from photographic reference as well as a live model, students will explore the elements of successful portraiture, including drawing and construction of the head, developing form, composition, and color relationships. Each day, teaching artist Heather Rinehart will provide demonstrations and exercises to engage young artists and help them to better understand a classical approach to portraiture.
