Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism offers recreational youth soccer for ages 9-10. This program focuses on enhancing each youth's knowledge of the game and skill level on the field while providing a positive sports experience emphasizing sportsmanship and fun.Age as of March 31, 2024, determines eligibility/age group. Leagues are subject to close-out prior to the last day of registration. Leagues may be delayed or cancelled due to an insufficient number of volunteer coaches.
Due to high demand, registration may fill up prior to the enrollment end date. Please only join the waiting list for the area and age group you intend to play in. Team placement requests will not be granted.
Practices for the Indian River area will take place at Indian River Community Center or Georgetown Primary School. Coaches set the practice schedules based on their availability and will contact you about their approved practice days and times.
Game schedules will be posted online prior to the beginning of the season. Games will take place at various locations city wide. A game jersey will be provided by the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department. Inclement weather make-ups and playoffs (for qualifying teams) may run into June.
*Enrolled participants for this age group may be required to attend an evaluation to help determine team placement. If necessary, evaluations are expected to be held the week of March 4th. Athletics staff will provide more specific dates and information after registration closes.*
Responsibility/Consent on registration form, refund policy and team placement guidelines are also listed. Refunds are not granted after participants are placed on teams.
