Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism offers recreational youth flag football for ages 8 - 13. This program focuses on enhancing each youth's knowledge of the game and skill level on the field while providing a positive sports experience emphasizing sportsmanship and fun.
Age as of March 31, 2026 determines eligibility/age group. Leagues are subject to close-out prior to the last day of registration. Leagues may be delayed or cancelled due to an insufficient number of volunteer coaches or game officials.
Due to high demand, registration may fill up prior to the enrollment end date. Please only join the waiting list for the area and age group you intend to play in. Team placement requests will not be granted.
Once registration ends, athletic staff will provide practice start dates. Volunteer head coaches have the ability to choose their preferred practice schedules based on their availability. Practices could take place Monday - Thursday between 5:30pm and 8:30pm and Saturdays starting at 9:00am. Practice schedule information will be shared after team placement. Practices for this league could take place at various city or school fields in the Deep Creek or Camelot area.
Game schedules will be posted online prior to the beginning of the season. Games will primarily be played on Saturday's starting at 9:00am. Teams may have a few weeknight games Monday - Thursday between 6:00pm and 8:30pm. Games will take place at various locations city wide. A game jersey will be provided by the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.
All players are required to have a mouth guard and shorts without pockets for all practices and games. It is also recommended that all players bring football cleats or athletic shoes and a water bottle.
Responsibility/Consent on registration form, refund policy and team placement guidelines are also listed. Refunds are not granted after participants are placed on teams. Team placement requests will not be granted. Leagues may be delayed or cancelled due to an insufficient number of volunteer coaches. Games will take place at various locations city wide.
