Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism offers recreational youth soccer for ages 9-10. This program focuses on enhancing each youth's knowledge of the game and skill level on the field while providing a positive sports experience emphasizing sportsmanship and fun.Age as of July 31, 2025 determines eligibility/age group. Leagues are subject to close-out prior to the last day of registration. Leagues may be delayed or cancelled due to an insufficient number of volunteer coaches or game officials.
Due to high demand, registration may fill up prior to the enrollment end date. Please only join the waiting list for the area and age group you intend to play in. Team placement requests will not be granted.
Once registration ends, athletic staff will provide practice start dates. Coaches set the practice schedules based on their availability and will contact you about their approved practice days and times. Practices and games could take place Monday - Thursday between 5:30pm and 9:30pm
Practices for this league could take place at various city or school fields in the Deep Creek or Camelot area. Game schedules will be posted online prior to the beginning of the season. Games will take place at various locations city wide. A game jersey will be provided by the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department. Inclement weather make-ups and playoffs (for qualifying teams) may run into November.
All players will be required to bring shin guards to practices and games. It is also recommended that players bring their own ball and a water bottle for practices.
*Enrolled participants for this age group may be required to attend an evaluation to help determine team placement. Athletics staff will provide more specific dates and information after registration closes, if evaluations are necessary.*
Responsibility/Consent on registration form, refund policy and team placement guidelines are also listed. Refunds are not granted after participants are placed on teams. Team placement requests will not be granted. Leagues may be delayed or cancelled due to an insufficient number of volunteer coaches. Games will take place at various locations city wide.
