Discover Careers in Environmental Science Get ready for an exciting, hands-on event designed to spark youth interest in environmental science! This event is tailored to Girl Scouts across all levels. Participants will explore a variety of nature-based careers through fun, interactive stations led by real professionals. Career Areas Include: Naturalism – Go on a short hike, identify native species, and explore ways to protect local ecosystems. Beekeeping – Meet a beekeeper, learn how to care for bees, and sample fresh honey. Pest Management – Learn how pros identify and manage pests to protect public health. Entomology – Meet entomologists, interact with live insects, and explore careers focused on bugs. Conservation – Discover park ranger career paths and the work behind managing national parks. Wildlife Rehabilitation – Meet wildlife experts, learn how animals are rehabilitated, and find out how to advocate for nature. Stations will be set up for groups to explore in a freestyle manner, allowing participants to move at their own pace. Each registrant will receive their own field notes book and marker to take notes or draw sketches throughout the day. Participants will earn a custom event badge. Please note: Guardians must stay with registrants during the event. Bathrooms, water, and nut-free snacks will be available throughout the day inside the cafeteria.
