In the WOW! Wonders of Water Journey, Brownies learn how to protect the waters. They will meet a water quality expert at Nature Forward and learn about protecting the watershed. They will hike to Rock Creek to conduct water-quality experiments, including catching creek critters that indicate the health of the creek. Then they will team up to do a project based on what they’ve learned. They will make posters to educate others about saving water, and take action to plant native species in the Rock Creek watershed. Nature Forward is offering Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors a fun and productive day investigating a nature-themed Girl Scout Journey! All requirements for the Journey will be completed, including a Take-Action project that benefits local natural habitats, and may be adapted to continue service in scouts’ own communities. (GS Journey Patches not provided.) Scouts will be dropped off to attend the full day at Woodend, bringing their own snack, lunch, water, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and weather-appropriate clothing. Girls will be grouped by scout level (Daisy/Brownie/Junior) as Nature Forward naturalists lead the scouts through engaging activities, games, and hikes to complete their Journey.
