Studio Makers is an intermediate visual arts program for young artists ages 8–14, building on the foundational skills developed in Mini Makers. Students expand their artistic practice through more advanced techniques, including printmaking, sewing, and mixed-media exploration. Through artist studies, guided instruction, and hands-on experimentation, students strengthen their technical skills while developing a deeper understanding of artistic process and composition. With an emphasis on independent projects and self-directed exploration, students are encouraged to pursue their own ideas, communicate personal stories and identities, and develop a distinct artistic perspective. During this program your child will have the opportunity to: *Advance Technical Art Skills: Develop proficiency in more complex techniques, including printmaking, sewing, and mixed-media practices, while strengthening students’ understanding of composition, materials, and artistic processes. *Promote Independent Artistic Practice: Encourage students to generate ideas, plan projects, make creative decisions, and manage their work independently from concept development to completion. *Strengthen Personal Expression and Artistic Identity: Support students in exploring individual interests, identities, and perspectives while developing a distinct artistic style and communicating ideas through their work. *Develop Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Build skills in experimentation, observation, reflection, and revision as students evaluate their work, troubleshoot technical challenges, and refine their artistic approaches. *Cultivate Resilience and Collaboration: Encourage perseverance, constructive feedback, respect for diverse perspectives, and responsible use of shared materials while fostering a supportive studio environment.
