Chess introduces students to the game of chess and helps them develop critical thinking, strategy, and problem-solving skills. Children will build on last year's progress by learning important endgames and valuable techniques, as well as having opportunities to keep at local Chicagoland chess tournaments, both as individuals and as a team. Students work through the Nexplore-exclusive workbook “How To Beat Your Friends in Chess”. New students will need to purchase the workbook ($20) during registration. Interested 1st graders will be admitted with the instructor’s approval.
