"All the best performers bring to their role something more, something different than what the author put on paper. That's what makes theatre live. That's why it persists." - Stephen Sondheim In this 8-week session, students will work with a Chicago theatre professional to delve into the basic techniques of acting and perform monologues and scenes. Through playing drama and improv games, learning about the different methods of acting, and breaking down a character and script, students will discover how to communicate effectively with a scene partner, tell a story, and embrace being in the moment. The session ends in an informal performance for parents showcasing the students' progress.
