About This Activity
Kindergarten through 2nd grade students will continue to engage and find joy in hands-on musical activities that build their musical vocabulary and the ability to perform steady beat, rhythms, and melodic patterns. Students will hone their creativity while learning to improvise and compose and they will expand their use of expressive tools as they learn to play instruments (percussion, ukulele, xylophones, glockenspiels) and practice their voices. They will learn how to collaborate within a group and take responsibility for their own parts to make the whole group/band sound beautiful. Their work will culminate in a final project or in-class performance.
