About This Activity
Description
Join the Park Survival Club for an outdoor adventure like no other! Each week, participants will set out to explore the wild spaces around the Chico Creek Nature Center — uncovering hidden trails, spotting local wildlife (and meeting the animals that live at the Nature Center!), and learning essential survival skills like navigation and shelter building. Participants will also practice real-world outdoor skills, including identifying plants and natural materials, testing their cordage and rope techniques, and applying what they’ve learned during an ultimate scenario day that wraps up the session. Through hands-on activities, team challenges, and immersive wilderness experiences, every session offers a new adventure that builds confidence, strengthens resilience, and deepens their connection to the great outdoors. This program runs rain or shine. Layers are strongly recommended. Please send your participant wearing hats, sunscreen, and bug spray when applicable, as well as warm clothes and rain jackets when applicable. All participants must wear closed-toe athletic or hiking shoes.
