About This Activity
Description
Have you ever wanted to play in a rock band! Pop and Rock Band Camp combines the interests and talents of developing musicians who play guitar, drums, bass, keyboards and/or sing. The camp offers the opportunity for musicians to learn how to play and perform classic and current pop and rock songs. The camp will consist of multiple “pop/rock bands”, each utilizing audio stations that are outfitted with an electronic drum kit and keyboard, with additional inputs for guitars, bass, and vocal microphones. Headphones will be provided to all students and students are encouraged to bring their own instrument. There are plenty of instruments available if students do not have their own.Participants will learn how to use guitar, bass guitar and keyboard amplifiers and will have an opportunity to record in Inspire’s Recording Studio. The week will culminate in a “mini-concert” for any family able to attend. Musicians must have an intermediate or above knowledge of their instruments, know how to play basic chords and rhythms and be willing to perform for others. Return student musicians are encouraged!Instructor: Jim WhiteLocation: Inspire School of Arts and Sciences, Room 19 and 22Sub-Category
