Monday night Wheel Throwing is perfect for beginners or intermediate participants who have some prior experience. It is designed as a "rolling admissions" style class that you can jump into at any point if there is space available (select start date and # of weeks). The teacher provides ongoing demonstrations and continuous instruction as well as time to practice honing your skills on the pottery wheel. Participants will learn how to center the clay, form basic shapes like bowls and cups, learn trimming, lidded forms, attaching handles and apply colorful glazes. Pieces are ready for pickup after 2-3 weeks from when they are completed. Clay & glazing is included in the tuition. No outside clay is permitted. Communal tools are provided or you may bring your own tools if desired. Studio expectations include cleanup of potter's wheel, bucket and tools at the end of each class. Please sign all work or it will be recycled. This class is open to ages 10 and up. If you are trying to use charter school funds for this course, please contact wildclayhomeschool@gmail.com for more information on how to proceed.
