About This Activity
CLASS DESCRIPTION Create your favorite Cartoon Characters at Wild Clay! Make your imagination come to life and bring your best ideas. Some recommendations include: Dinosaurs, Pokemon, Hello Kitty, Mario Bros, Minecraft Characters, SpongeBob, Superheroes, other Video Game/Pop-Culture Characters that your child may be interested in. In this beginner and intermediate-friendly camp, students will be shown foundational skills in sculpture formation and expert assistance will be provided as needed. Day 1: learn basics of character sculpting (hollowing, connecting, blending), start project #1 Day 2: finish project #1, start project #2 Day 3: Finish project 2, start painting Day 4: complete painting with underglazes Students may focus on a head/bust or full-figure, projects should stay around 4-8”. Students come with ideas of what they would like to sculpt, or if they need inspiration our staff can provide suggestions. Projects will be ready for pickup in approx 4 weeks after completing the camp. You are welcome to repeat this class over the course of several weeks to help establish the fundamentals and to witness growth in skill and refinement. Each session they can create different characters and strive to improve their construction skills. All clay, glazes and shared tools are included in the session pricing! Parents, please do not drop off your child earlier than 5 minutes before class start time or pick them up late. Our studio hours do not allow us extra time between classes. Please try to pick up within 5 minutes of camp end time. Thank you!
