In this beginner-friendly Pottery Wheel camp-style class designed for 1st-12th grade students, kids will explore the fundamentals of wheel-thrown ceramics in a fun, supportive environment where we encouraging creativity, teach patience, and develop fine motor skills. Guided by an experienced instructor, students will learn how to center clay, form basic shapes like bowls, cups, small vases or mugs, as well as how to trim excess clay & apply handles. Students with prior experience are allowed to move ahead at their own pace. Each student is permitted to keep *5 pieces max* during the course of the 4 days. They can make more than 5 as they are throwing, but will only keep the 5 best of their choice to be fired. They will select their colors from our wide selection of 15 dipping glazes, or if they return for multiple weeks, they may learn how to glaze for themselves. We highly recommend repeating the class over the course of several weeks to help establish the fundamentals and to witness growth in skill and refinement. All clay, glazes and shared tools are included in the session pricing! Parents, please do not drop off your child earlier than 5 minutes before class start time or pick them up late. Our studio hours do not allow us extra time between classes. Please try to pick up within 5 minutes of camp end time. Thank you! **After 1 hr 45 min, all wheel throwing must cease as we all begin our cleanup process.**
