Beginning Wheel Throwing is a casual, introductory 8-week pottery wheel-throwing class for beginners or those with limited experience ages 12 and up. Intermediate and Advanced classes require this as a prerequisite. Guided by an experienced instructor, students will learn how to center the clay, form basic shapes like bowls and cups, and apply colorful glazes. Pieces are ready for pickup after 2 weeks from when they are completed. The pottery wheel requires patience and repetition to master which is why we have designed this class to be 8 weeks long. By the end of the course, students will have an established foundation in wheel-throwing and several finished pieces to take home. Clay & glazing is included in the tuition. No outside clay is permitted. Communal tools are provided or you may bring your own tools if desired. Studio expectations include cleanup of potter's wheel, bucket and tools at the end of each class. Please sign all work or it will be recycled. This class is open to ages 12 and up.
