Growing up with heart disease can present significant physical and emotional challenges. Through Camp Joyful Hearts, Family Camp, and the support network of kids in similar circumstances that gather there each summer, we hope to help kids with heart disease and their families address these challenges. Camp Joyful Hearts is a residential summer camp for kids and teens with heart disease. Camp Joyful Hearts offers many exciting camp activities such as swimming, high ropes, campfires, stargazing in our new observatory and much more! All activities are adapted to each child’s abilities. A pediatric cardiologist and cardiac nurses are onsite 24 hours a day. The Heart Institute team has been working closely with Camp Joy to ensure that we explore all options to offer our campers a safe and enjoyable summer experience. We are looking forward to a week of friends and fun. All eligible Camp Joyful Hearts participants must be fully vaccinated to attend camp in 2023, and provide proof of vaccination before arrival on June 25th, 2023. Each camper will be required to have a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours prior to arrival and provide proof of this negative test result when they arrive at camp Each Cincinnati Children's employee attending camp will be fully vaccinated. The Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is dedicated to bettering the lives of heart patients and their families with compassion, commitment and the best possible medical care.
