About This Activity
Open Mic/Karaoke is a fun, supportive class where every student has a chance to shine! Children may choose to sing, read aloud, tell jokes, perform a monologue, recite poetry, rap, emcee, or share another teacher-approved talent. Each class begins with a brief group warm-up before students take the stage in an encouraging, non-judgmental environment. Along the way, they'll build confidence, communication skills, creativity, public speaking, and audience etiquette while learning to support and celebrate one another. Participation is recognized through fun punch cards and prizes that reward courage, effort, respectful listening, and positive encouragement—not performance ability.
