The Colleyville Police Department’s Junior Police Academy is a hands-on, week-long program designed to introduce middle school students to the fundamentals of law enforcement and public safety. Participants will develop leadership, communication, and observation skills while gaining firsthand experience with many of the duties performed by local police officers. Activities may include handcuffing techniques, building searches, traffic stops, SWAT operations, drone demonstrations, CPR, and self-defense instruction. The academy is led by Colleyville police officers and includes presentations and activities from partnering outside agencies.If you are interested in this class, please contact Officer Amy Beregszaszy at aberegszaszy@colleyville.com or 817.305.4907. A written recommendation letter from a school official (teacher, principal, etc.) or community leader (coach, pastor, etc.), along with a completed parental permission slip, is required prior to registration. Space is limited, and first-time attendees will be given priority.
