Experience the excitement of Maryland's great outdoors while building personal relationships and leadership abilities. Learn team-building and problem-solving skills during a variety of adventure-centered activities. Learn basic kayak paddling skills on Centennial Lake and jump in a tube to float down a scenic Maryland flatwater creek. Gain confidence while rock climbing and challenge yourself on a high/low-element ropes course. Must be able to pass a basic swim test on the first day to participate in this camp. Fee includes van or bus transportation to camp locations, instruction, equipment, and activities. Info: Matt Medicus, 410-313-1769 or mmedicus@howardcountymd.gov.
If your child will need to bring medication with them to camp, please fill out the Medication Administration Authorization Form (Camps) found by clicking here. After clicking link, got to "Camps, Classes, and Activities". It requires a doctor's signature, so please allow enough time for it to be complete before the start of camp.
Campers will take a basic swim test at the RCCC pool on the first day of camp. Life jackets are provided for canoeing/kayaking activities and the tubing trip during camp.
We will try to keep groups consistent throughout the week. All campers must provide their own non-perishable lunch and snacks (no peanut products) and bring plenty of water. Detailed information and camp participant forms will be emailed to registrants approximately two weeks prior to the start of each camp session. Schedule is subject to change; camp may be cancelled in case of inclement weather. In most cases, Friday will be used as a makeup day. Prompt drop off and pickup of child(ren) at recreational programs is mandatory. Special accommodations are available but not guaranteed. Requests must be made at least two weeks in advance.
