About This Activity
Description
Morning: Coding in Minecraft with LUASoftware: Minecraft | Skill: Beg.-Int.Using a custom mod called “Computercraft,” learn how to program robots called “Turtles” inside the world of Minecraft. Utilize problem-solving skills by learning how to program your robots to complete various tasks and objectives (ex: programming your turtles to automatically build, mine, and craft items and structures). Enjoy this introduction to programming “if-then-else” statements, “for-while” loops, and implementing your own functions using Lua, a simple scripting language.Afternoon: Animation using MinecraftSoftware: Mine-imator | Skill: Beg.Learn how characters move and look alive in movies and video games! Become engaged through an intro to basic 2D and 3D animation techniques using Minecraft characters and stages. Expand your perception, observation, timing skills, imagination, and storytelling skills by studying motion in reality; then applying it to animation. Learn how animators work by completing short animation exercises and projects. Apply acting theories and animation principles to scenes you create.
