About This Activity

Description

Competitive cheerleading is a physically demanding sport where teams perform routines that combine tumbling, stunts, dance, and pyramids. Please note tumbling will not be taught by the coaching staff but will be assessed and performed by those with mastered skills. Requirements: No previous experience required, skill and maturity level evaluations will occur to place athletes into the proper competitive team structure and to maintain safety in team progression. This evaluation is made by the competitive team coaching staff. Mandatory two to three day a week practices. Minimum forward roll preferred with progression to, but not limited to, hip overhead rotational skills such as back walkovers and back handsprings. Mandatory attendance of three to four competitive events with up to a 3.5 hour drive. Hotel travel may be required at long-distance competitions.
