About This Activity
Description
Enjoy the sport of freshwater fishing. Learn the basic techniques to become an independent angler, and learn how to use a rod, reel, and live bait. Gain an understanding of the safety associated with fishing (ex: hooks, casting). Bring your fishing rod/reel and basic tackle (ex: bobbers, sinkers, hooks). Live bait is provided. Campers must bring their own fishing rod/reel and basic tackle (ex. Bobbers, sinkers, hooks); no fly rods. Contact supervisor for more information. We will try to keep groups consistent throughout the week. All campers must provide their own snacks (no peanut products) and bring plenty of water. Detailed information and camp participant forms will be emailed to registrants approximately two weeks prior to the start of each camp session. Schedule is subject to change; Fishing Camp will run in light rain but camp may be cancelled in case of inclement weather. In most cases, Friday will be used as a makeup day. Prompt drop off and pickup of child(ren) at recreational programs is mandatory. Special accommodations are available but not guaranteed. Requests must be made at least two weeks in advance.
