Description
Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.
Enjoy the sport of freshwater fishing. Learn the basic techniques to become an independent angler, and learn how to use a rod, reel, and live bait. Gain an understanding of the safety associated with fishing (ex: hooks, casting) and discover the ecology of fish habitat, ID and the food web. Bring your fishing rod/reel and basic tackle (ex: bobbers, sinkers, and hooks). Live bait is provided. Info: Kelly Vogelpohl, 410-313-1754 or kvogelpohl@ howardcountymd.gov.
If your child will need to bring medication with them to camp, please fill out the Medication Administration Authorization Form (Camps) found by clicking here. After clicking link, got to "Camps, Classes, and Activities". It requires a doctor's signature, so please allow enough time for it to be complete before the start of camp.
Campers must bring their own fishing rod/reel and basic tackle (ex. Bobbers, sinkers, hooks); no fly rods. Contact supervisor for more information.
All campers must provide their own snacks (no peanut products) and bring plenty of water. Detailed information and camp participant forms will be emailed to registrants approximately two weeks prior to the start of each camp session.
Schedule is subject to change; Fishing Camp will run in light rain but camp may be cancelled in case of inclement weather. In most cases, Friday will be used as a makeup day.
Prompt drop off and pickup of child(ren) at recreational programs is mandatory. Special accommodations are available but not guaranteed. Requests must be made at least two weeks in advance.
