About This Activity
Description
Howard County Recreation & Parks is excited to continue building opportunities for girls in flag football with Middle School & High School launching in March 2026. This non-contact league is designed to help players learn the game, build confidence, and compete in a fun, supportive environment.Players register individually, making it easy to get involved—no team required. Games are played 7-on-7 and last 50 minutes, with a focus on basic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The first team practice will be held on Friday, March 13, followed by one weeknight practice prior to games beginning on Friday, March 20. Teams practice one weeknight per week. Special requests are not accepted.
Teams will play 8 game schedule followed by a single-elimination playoff tournament. All games take place on County artificial turf fields on Friday evenings between 6:00–9:00pm.
Volunteer head coaches are needed. Coaches receive a credit toward a future program, and their child is guaranteed placement on the volunteer’s team.
The program fee includes a team shirt. Rosters are final. Siblings in the same age group will be placed together unless otherwise requested.
