About This Activity

Description

Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.

Calling all bug and insect lovers! Not only are there tons of them, but they are a very important part of the ecosystem! Become an entomologist (scientist who study insects) while learning about insects and all of the amazing things they can do. Go on an insect scavenger hunt and practice insect identification skills. Explore the cool adaptation abilities of some insects. Spend much of the week doing your part to help your little insect pals! Use engineering skills to make a hornets’ nest. Be the architect and designer to construct a bee home. Tap into agricultural skills to build a bee garden.

Prepare for your next Pokémon adventure! Not only is your goal to “catch em all,” you also apply scientific theories along the way. Meet Pokémon of all types and conduct hands-on experiments that grant insight into the wonderful world of Pokémon. Exciting activities include hatching a chemical reaction Pokémon, launching a catapult to catch your own Pokémon, exploring the effectiveness of Pikachu’s electricity, observing bug Pokémon and the real insects and organisms they resemble, reflecting on the three states of matter with Ditto slime, and so much more.
Discover loads of horribly fantastic experiments! Projects focus on blood, bones and body bits! This is science with the squishy bits left in! Tons of chemistry and biology for the aspiring doctor or scientist! Sample projects include Bulging Bag of Brains, Simulated Snot, Baby Diaper Dissection, Eyeball Acrobatics, Bird Barf, and more! Grossologists indulge in many other sickening body experiments. This is our most disgusting camp!
Wonder what a veterinarian is and what they do? You can tell your friends by the end of this week! Learn the basic anatomy of and care for both cats and dogs, as well as more advanced care like stitches and treating broken bones. Gain an understanding of the different body systems, including the circulatory, respiratory, and skeleton, by making models of these important systems. Enjoy 20 engaging, hands-on activities and projects! At the end of the week, bring home your Future Veterinarian Kit and first-aid supply kit.
Why focus on just one area of science? Enjoy a broad range of topics in one fun and engaging class! Perform hands-on experiments based on the National Science Standards. Explore the natural world while learning about rattlesnakes, birds of prey, and plants. Head into the laboratory to mix ingredients to create something new (think Oobleck, Gak and window paint)! Next, learn about the moon and flight, and then travel down into the sea to learn about air pressure. This camp exposes you to what the world of science has to offer!
Enjoy an introduction into the world of robotics. Learn about six simple machines and how they are incorporated into more complex machines. Gain an understanding of circuits and power sources as you build a “Mars-like” RC Rover. The radio-controlled RC Rover can perform 23 experiments and activities. Enjoy constructing an Art Bot. You get to take home the robot you build!
This camp offers an exciting adventure in Paleontology that is sure to have you playing in the dirt and having the time of your life! Enjoy several hands-on projects that you take home. Delight in fun and dynamic science games. Sample projects include Panning for Gems and Minerals! Crack Open a Geode! Miniature Dinosaur Dig! Build and take away a cool T-Rex model!
Ahoy, my crew and marine biologists! This is a super-sized version of the former Camp Jolly Roger. Explore the crystal blue oceans by studying the ocean structure, marine life, and environmental issues. Projects include: The Ocean Zone Discovery Model, Map Making, Knot Tying, Ocean Wave Bottle, Shark Tooth Necklace, Urchin Wind Chime, and Shark Survey. There's a whopping 20 make-and-take projects! This sea adventure includes pirate escapades (search for gold, gems, and buried treasure).
