About This Activity
Description
Calling all bug and insect lovers!! Not only are there tons of them, but they are a very important part of the ecosystem! Campers become entomologists (scientists who study insects) as they learn about insects and all of the amazing things they can do. Go on an insect scavenger hunt and practice insect identification skills, and explore cool adaptations that some insects have. Your entomologist spends a fair amount of the week doing their part to help their little insect pals! They’ll use their engineering skills as they make a hornets’ nest, be the architect and designer as they construct a bee home and tap into their agricultural skills as they build a bee garden. One thing we can be sure of is that campers won’t find a more complete study and fun adventure of insects than in this camp! Info: Daneisha Nicholas, 410-313-4625 or dnicholas@howardcountymd.gov.All-day camps: bring a non-perishable, nut-free lunch, snack, and reusable water bottle. Half-day camps: bring a non-perishable, nut-free snack and reusable water bottle.
If your child will need to bring medication with them to camp, please fill out the Medication Administration Authorization Form (Camps) is attached above for you to download and fill out. It requires a doctor's signature, so please allow enough time for it to be complete before the start of camp.
