Join Discover Earth Camp as the GIRLs team up with Ms. Blizzle to explore earth science and STEM in a jam-packed week of fun! During this week of camp, we cover weather, energy, oceans, botany, environment, chemistry, robotics, art and everything in between!Explore all things coding in an intense week of guided coding exercises from beginner to advanced. By the end of the week, design your own game and animation. Achieve an introductory level of proficiency in various coding languages and styles.
Join Team Discover as we learn more about space, planet Earth, and the environment through hands-on fun. Build a model solar system and your very own 3-D planet; and learn all about caring for the Earth by making a terrarium and starting a garden of your own. Learn about outer space, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Earth, pollution, ecosystems, and "green" gardening.
Join Team Discover as we learn more about lightning, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and volcanoes through hands-on fun. Conduct your own weather forecast, make clouds and tornadoes, build your own model volcano that erupts, and so much more!
Have you ever thought about what you would do if the power grid collapses? What would you do if you no longer had access to fresh water fordrinking? Where would you get food if all the stores closed? This week of hands-on learning teaches you to survive challenging times in a fun and engaging way. Campers are presented with potential real-world challenges, all the tools they need, and the step-by-step guide to overcoming the challenge.
Join Team Discover as we explore electricity and energy. During this week of camp, produce energy from unlikely sources (fruit!), build electrical circuits and design your own solar-powered devices!
No camp 6/23 ,7/3. Info: Daneisha Nicholas, 410-313-4625 or dnicholas@howardcountymd.gov.
No camp 6/23, 7/3. All-day camps: bring a non-perishable, nut-free lunch, snack, and reusable water bottle.
