About This Activity
Description
Children will learn basic dance moves and positions in ballet, tap, and jazz dance in this fun and upbeat class! The group exercises and activities focus on improving balance, flexibility, and rhythm as the experienced instructor will lovingly and patiently introduce social concepts like taking turns, following directions, and being a part of a class. Participants will also be introduced to basic elements of performance like stage presence and choreography. Children will also enjoy "free dance" time where their creativity can shine!Students may wear dance attire or any clothing that is comfortable for lots of movement and stretching. There are no required shoes for Intro to Movement class. Beginner and Intermediate students will need tap shoes this session! For ballet and jazz, students can wear ballet shoes, jazz shoes, athletic shoes or just socks.
