About This Activity
Description
This program will empower youth with the building blocks for a productive life. The classes will help students to develop healthy self-esteem, teach them how to apply acceptable society manners, to utilize team work, and learn creative skills. Two sessions are needed to impart the information. Six etiquette classes will be held during the spring. Week seven will be designated for review and graduation. The requested cost is $30 to help provide a stipend for the instructor. West African dance training will be held during the summer camp, and therefore, cost is free.
1. To learn how to introduce themselves.2. To set a table properly.3. To sit properly in a chair.4. To learn the importance of "thank you."5. To learn the benefits of good posture and exercise.6. To learn the importance of proper stretching.7. To learn a West African choreographed dance, buidling upon the lessons taught each week.8. To keep African culture alive by sharing and teaching the younger generation its dances.
