All participants must have a Leisure Card (free) obtain from the Front Desk. You must scan the Leisure Card at the Front Desk prior to each class. This class will focus on Olympic-style Taekwondo sparring. Students will learn sparring drills, strategies, and tactics for competitive sport Taekwondo. Students will engage in full-contact sparring and must bring protective equipment. Taekwondo is the national sport of Korea. Olympic Taekwondo was included as a demonstration sport at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea and was adopted as a full medal sport for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Taekwondo features an emphasis on fast footwork, jumping, spinning, and high kicking techniques. Must have Taekwondo sparring equipment (helmet, mouthguard, arm guards, leg guards, cup/groin protector). Must be enrolled in Advanced Tae kwon Do. NO CLASS:Activity Age Category
