Join Ms. Jessie as we develop and perform a special Halloween play based on the book Big Pumpkin by Erica Silverman.
In this story, a witch wants to make a pumpkin pie for Halloween, but she grows a pumpkin so large that she can’t move it! Neither can her spooky friends! Each of them tries and fails, until a little bat comes along and uses brains over brawn to create a surprising solution.
We’ll read the book, turn it into a script, cast our play, stage it, design and develop our story in time for our performance on the last day of class.
We’ll have costumes, some scenic elements and we will even build our own masks!
Your child will act, design, create and play each class through a fun, not so scary Halloween story.
Day One: Read story, character study, assign characters, stage/block showDay Two: Rehearse, design day Day Three: Rehearse, create costumes, start masksDay Four: Rehearse, finish costumes, paint masks Day Five: Rehearsal, “SHOW TIME”
