Coaches Short and Lizotte are the owners of Peak Performance Hockey and bring extensive experience running successful body checking clinics, including checking clinics with the Boston Hockey Club. Build confidence, control, and safety on the ice with our Hockey Checking Clinic. This focused clinic is designed to teach players how to give and receive body checks properly, emphasizing balance, points of contact, angling, positioning, and awareness. We will teach players the basic foundations of body checking off of the ice to allow for translatable learning on the ice! Led by experienced coaches, the clinic breaks checking down into progressive, age-appropriate instruction. Players will learn: - Proper body positioning and contact mechanics. - Angling and stick positioning - How to safely absorb and protect against contact - How to establish and maintain the “three points of contact” - Respectful, rule-based physical play Our priority is player safety and confidence, ensuring players understand when and how to engage physically while staying within the rules of the game. Drills move from individual technique to controlled contact situations, allowing players to develop skills at a comfortable pace. This clinic is ideal for players preparing for checking leagues or those looking to improve their physical play in a safe, structured environment. Train smart. Play strong. Check with confidence.
