About This Activity

Montana Hut Based Backcountry Camp for Girls Backcountry skiing and avalanche awareness education in the beautiful Beartooth and Absaroka Mountains. This overnight camp will include an all-female professional guide team, outdoor leadership, and education on backcountry fundamentals based out of the Woody Creek Cabin. Montana Camp Details Location - The Woody Creek Cabin is located approximately 2.5 miles from downtown Cooke City, Montana and sits at 8,700'. Guides will meet the girls in Cooke City, Montana to tour into the Cabin for the camp. Cooke City is located 3 hours from Bozeman, Montana, next to the Northeast entrance of Yellowstone Park. Situated between Yellowstone Park's NE entrance, the Gallatin/Custer and Shoshone National Forests. Dates: April 5-7, 2023 (3 Days, 2 Nights) Arrival Day: March 31st Parent drop off @ 8am in Cooke City, MT Parent Pickup Day: April 2nd @ 4pm in Cooke City, MT Cost: $1,450.00 Includes: 2 Nights at the Woody Creek Cabin. The cabin is located 2.5 miles and 1,200' of elevation gain from downtown Cooke City, Montana. The Cabin is nestled in the forest near the confluence of Woody and Hayden Creek. Three nutritional meals a day plus snacks for our fun full days in the mountains ski touring. 3 days of ski touring, how to use our equipment, uphill techniques, pacing, layering, and route selection. Avalanche awareness including terrain management and basic companion rescue strategies. Fun with the girls and a fully female staff, in a safe, fulfilling environment, where confident decision-making, leadership, Equipment Campers will have the option to use Keely’s Camp backcountry setup. Our setup includes Blizzard Zero G skis with Marker King pin bindings and skins. Campers will need to bring their own backcountry ski boots.
