About This Activity
This unique week-long intensive is designed for instrumentalists interested in gaining experience in playing Jazz. In addition to developing your artistry enhancement through daily performance opportunities, you will improve your musical understanding and skills while working with faculty members from the Frost School of Music. Classes in Improvisation, Jazz Theory and Ear Training, Arranging, and Jazz Composition are included in the curriculum. To expand your knowledge of the music industry, workshops in Recording and Production, Entrepreneurship, and aspects of the Music Business are offered. Another feature of the Frost Jazz Intensive is the College Prep Workshop, which includes a seminar in Audition Preparation. In collaboration with the jazz vocal summer program, the week will culminate in a final concert. Application Process: 1. You will submit your application with audition materials with your initial application fee of $50.00. 2. Once submitted, your application will be processed, and it will be reviewed by the program directors. 3. If accepted, you will be notified of your next steps via email with instructions on how to complete the process to secure your spot for the summer. NOTE: Submitting an initial application does not imply an automatic acceptance.
