Bulldog Brainiacs is a summer learning acceleration opportunity exclusively for Riviera students and families. Taught by Riviera teachers, these fun-filled learning focused sessions will give your rising Kindergarten and first grade students the chance to sharpen their literacy, math, and critical thinking skills in a project-based learning setting. Get ready to dig deeper into learning on a prehistoric adventure designed especially for rising kindergarten explorers! In Dinosaur Discovery Expedition, campers will strengthen foundational literacy skills through guided reading activities, blending and segmenting sounds, building CVC words, and expanding sight word recognition—all inspired by engaging dinosaur stories and research. Writing activities will focus on sentence formation, labeling diagrams, and developing simple informational pieces about their favorite dinosaurs. Math comes alive as campers explore addition and subtraction within 10, number patterns, graphing, measurement, and comparing quantities through hands-on fossil digs, footprint measuring, and dinosaur habitat challenges. STEM-based discovery stations will introduce basic scientific inquiry as students classify dinosaurs, explore habitats, and investigate simple life cycle concepts. Fine motor development, collaboration, and problem-solving are woven throughout daily activities to ensure students build confidence and readiness for Kindergarten and first grade while roaring into their next academic adventure.
