About This Activity

Description

We're sorry, but online registration is not allowed for this activity. Please contact us during regular business hours for registration information at 248-1750.

Participants entering this course must have a Level 3 certificate or must be able to demonstrate all the completion requirements of Level 3.

Students should be comfortable in deep water. They will work towards treading for 2 minutes and swimming the length of the pool multiple times. Please note it may take several attempts at this class to move on to the next level.

The objective of Level 4 are to develop confidence in the strokes learned thus far and to improve other aquatic skills. Participants improve their skills and increase their endurance by swimming familiar strokes (front crawl, elementary backstroke) for greater distances. Students also continue to build upon the scissor kick and dolphin dick by adding the arms for sidestroke and butterfly. The back crawl and the breaststroke are introduced in Level 4, as well as the basics of turning at a wall.

On the weekend of University of Iowa home football games, class will be held on Sunday at the same scheduled time.

Saturdays: Sept. 20, Oct. 4, 11
Sundays: Sept. 14, 28
