This program is designed for families looking for a nature based, experiential approach to education. We will meet at Willamette Park with a monthly field trip to explore new environments. Utilizing Coyle Outside's Outdoor School Curriculum, participants will learn about science through natural exploration and survival skills lessons. Each season is customized to specific skills and nature's offerings of the season. Spring will focus on foraging, plant ID, animal ID, tracking, trapping, fire starting in spring, wood/plant processing, knife skills, navigation, and shelter building for the season. Students will have time to explore and play, build relationships, learn to solve problems, communicate, lead and follow more effectively. Participants should bring appropriate clothing for current weather conditions, snacks, water and lunch.
