3rd/4th Grade Boys Basketball DivisionWe are implementing a resident/non-resident fee for all of our youth sports programs. If you are within Covington city limits or believe you are you must verify your residency HERE to be approved for the resident activity fee.
Our winter youth basketball league is geared toward providing an opportunity for recreational basketball players to sharpen their skills and broaden their knowledge of basketball with an emphasis on fun, participation, and sportsmanship. This division is for our first-time and returning players that want to learn the fundamentals and further advance their shooting, dribbling, and passing skills. Sportsmanship and teamwork will also be strongly encouraged.

Game Days: Jan. 11, Jan. 18, Jan. 25, Feb. 1, Feb. 8, Feb. 15, Feb. 22
Practices: Teams are scheduled to have one practice per week starting the first week of January. The practice day and time are determined by our volunteer coaches. The practice lengths are also determined by coaches. For ages PreK, practices will be held before games on Saturday. For grades Kinder-2nd grade, practices will generally be 30 - 60 minutes. For grades 3rd-8th, practices will generally be 60 - 90 minutes. If you have a certain practice day that works best for you, please make that request during registration. We will try to match you with a coach that has a similar preference. No request is guaranteed.
Requests: We allow you to request playing with friends, playing for a specific coach, and certain practice days. We do receive many requests and try our best to meet all the requests. However, we cannot guarantee your request will be fulfilled.
Welcome to the League Email: An email will be sent out after the registration deadline with your coach's info, practice info, game schedule, and all the other important info you will need this season. You must provide us with an email address that is monitored regularly. The coach will contact you to introduce themselves shortly after.

Volunteer Coaches Needed: The more volunteer coaches we have, the more participants we can allow to enroll. You can find the coaching application on our website. Email it to athletics@covingtonwa.gov once complete.

Early Bird Registration: Early bird discount window runs until November 1. $10 fee increase after the early bird registration window closes date of November 1.
Registration Deadline: Thursday, November 30th. After this date, any remaining spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis; with the late registration fee added on. If you try to register and a division is full, you will be placed on a waitlist. SPACE IS LIMITED! We cannot guarantee spots will be open on November 30th. Sign up early to reserve a spot on a team!
Equipment: We will provide each participant with a team jersey. You are required to provide sneakers and shorts/sweatpants. Practice basketballs will be given to coaches to use during practices. They need to stay with the coach. We are not giving away balls to each participant.
Presidents Week: Due to schools being closed for Presidents Week (Feb. 17-21); there will be no basketball practices. We will have games that Saturday, February 22.

Your coach will hand out the game schedule at the first practice. You will be contacted by your coach mid December.
Recreation and Athletics Refund Policy:Full refunds, less ActiveNet online registration fee(s) will be given for any Recreation and Athletics program postponed, rescheduled or cancelled by the Covington Parks and Recreation Department.
Recreation and Athletics program credits and refunds must be requested at least one week prior to the start of the program. An administrative fee of $10.00 per student will be assessed for each Recreation or Athletics program refund processed.
All Recreation and Athletics program credits and refunds requests made less than one week prior to the start of a program must be pre-approved and will only be given due to an extended illness or injury when verified by a healthcare professional and will carry a $10.00 administrative fee per student for processing.
No program make-ups or discounts will be given for absences. No refunds or credits will be given once a program has begun.
