About This Activity
Description
Dr. Bennett presents a new way of learning and understanding the movement art of Tai Chi. Combining both classical and modern viewpoints, as outlined in his new book, Sink Low, Kick High: The Art and Science of Tai Chi, this class emphasizes Tai Chi as a movement discipline for physical and mental relaxation, gaining flexibility, body awareness, and balance. The focus on developing self-awareness allows students to quickly gain the benefits of Tai Chi.
This class provides an introduction to Tai Chi as a holistic exercise and is designed for people with no Tai Chi experience; although those with experience will benefit as well. Students will learn a Special Two Corner Form developed by Dr Bennett for beginners, as well as warm-ups and other Tai Chi moves.
Individuals of all ages are welcome. The class can be taken alone or in conjunction with the Beginning/Intermediate Tai Chi class on Wednesday evenings.
