Tier II travel hockey represents the second highest level of competition in USA Youth Hockey. Tier II teams compete in the Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL), the largest competitive youth hockey league in Illinois. Teams are made, in conjunction with the hockey director, by an evaluation selection committee during tryouts. Highest rated players make the 1st team, with the next level of players making the 2nd team and so forth. Individual player ice time is at the discretion of the coaching staff and will be decided with the ultimate goal of improving both YJ player and team development. www.nihl.info
